How many groups and who qualifies depends on how many teams your club has in your tier. The formats drawn for the current season are listed with each tier above.

Indoor Padel Australia

IPA plays as two branches, Alexandria and Northern Beaches. Each branch runs its own group stage and Branch Final; the two Branch Champions then meet in the IPA Qualifier to decide who represents IPA.

Represent

You won your club.
Now carry its name.

Winning your club's final makes you Club Champion, and Club Champions represent their club in PL's inter-club stage against the champions of rival partner clubs.

Win your club. Represent it.

IPA Qualifier

One match. One representative.

The Alexandria Branch Champion plays the Northern Beaches Branch Champion once per tier in Bronze, Silver and Gold. Best of three sets, standard tiebreaks. The winner represents Indoor Padel Australia in that tier's inter-club competition.

  • One best-of-three-sets match per tier
  • Standard tiebreaks at 6–6
  • Host venue decided by random live draw between the two branches
  • Scheduled after both Branch Finals and before inter-club play
  • Counts as an official PL match under ranking and Player of the Match rules
  • No aggregate score

Alexandria vs Northern Beaches. One place. One winner.

The inter-club stage

Two legs. Both count.

First Leg

Official PL match · 1.5 hours

Host the first official match at your club. The result counts toward the semi-final.

Second Leg

Official PL match · 2 hours

Meet again at the opposing club for the second official match. The 2-hour court allocation includes time for an immediate deciding tiebreak if match wins are tied 1–1.

  • One official match hosted at each club
  • Both legs count toward the semi-final
  • Win both legs to advance to Grand Final Day
  • If tied 1–1 after the Second Leg, an immediate tiebreak at that venue decides who advances

Two clubs. Two courts. One place in the final.

Defend home. Prove it away.

The destination

Grand Final Day

The qualifying teams from Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum meet at one shared neutral PL venue to decide the champions. The Foundation Cup's Grand Final Day is Sunday 29 November 2026.
